Architect Les Dykstra The founder of Architects-ldl was born creative, he designed and built his first building at the age of three, it was a tower. His passion for architecture drove him to become an Architect without borders and from there he went on complete Auckland’s Sky Tower and Macau Tower. Many of the projects he has been involved with have won awards. In 1999 he established Architects-ldl which designs and builds residential and commercial buildings.

When Les is not being an Award Winning Architect he is a waterman, he surfs, swims, goes fishing and spends time around water with his family. However, nowadays when he surfs he has to protect himself against infections and has noticed depleting fish numbers when he goes fishing. These changes are because of increasing pollution of the world’s water.

Consequently, in his Masters Degree he researched the causes and found that today’s buildings are contributing to this problem. His research has culminated in his book, “Aqua House”, which was published in 2008. The book is about reducing water pollution by integrating buildings and water in new attractive ways. Incorporating ideas in the book, into their projects, is the vision of Architects-ldl.
